What color is your skin tone? The conventional idea is that skin tone is the color seen on the skin surface. Many usually select a foundation shade simply based on this presumption -- mostly pinkish shades were chosen by people with fair, reddish skin tone or an ochre shade was favored by those with yellowish skin tone. COVERMARK took a different approach and focused on how the blood stream under the skin determines one’ skin tone. Hence, COVERMARK’s unique <Jusme Color> shade variation was developed.
There are two types of skin undertone -- blue based and yellow based. Everybody falls into either category, regardless of race, gender or skin color shade.

The association of skin undertone and skin tone defined by the <Jusme Color> theory

Skin undertone is influenced by veins and arteries that flow deep inside the skin. The undertone is classified into two groups; blue based and yellow based, depending on the color level of veins.

A three-layer filter to determine skin tone

Blue based skin:	Strongly influenced by the blue color of veins. Pale, lemon yellow skin tone.
Yellow based skin:	Skin is less affected the color of the veins, but directly reflects the color of red hemoglobin in the arteries. Healthy and warm, banana yellow skin tone with a natural glow.

<Jusme Color> COVERMARK’s unique test to determine your skin tone color developed based on the <Jusme Color> theory.
The test helps you to determine whether your skin undertone is yellow or blue based.

Apply three each of blue and yellow base test creams on the inside skin of the arms.
Right arm: Blue based
Left arm: Yellow based
The color and the surrounding skin appear different after a while.
Place the arms under a special lamp similar to natural daylight to determine whether skin undertone is blue or yellow based.
